Snapshot by model year
Each EPA configuration counts once. Medians below are not weighted by sales, driving distance or vehicle age. Gasoline, hybrid and diesel records share the liquid-fuel column; battery EVs use a separate unit. A year-to-year change can reflect which models are included, not a change in fleet efficiency.

Reuse and attribution
Numeric EPA ratings are sourced from the public dataset linked by Data.gov. No manufacturer photographs or source articles are redistributed. Cite the original EPA record and the snapshot retrieval date, 2026-10-05, when reusing the data. The transformations and coverage choices are documented in our methodology.
