How the calculation works
Annual cost = annual miles ÷ US MPG × dollars per US gallon. The starting example is 12,000 miles ÷ 30 MPG × $3.50 = $1,400 per year, or about $117 per month.
Use a realistic starting point
Enter your measured consumption when available. EPA ratings are a consistent comparison baseline, but weather, speed, terrain and driving style change actual energy use. Prices shown here are illustrative inputs, not current national averages.
What this estimate leaves out
Parking, tolls, insurance, depreciation, maintenance, taxes and charging-network session fees are excluded. This is an energy estimate, not a total ownership-cost quotation.
